DIAGNOSTIC INFORMATION AND PROCEDURES

SEAT - HARD TO MOVE FORWARD AND REARWARD


Condition

Action

NOTE:

Replace all seat adjusters as an assembly. Replace both sides at

the same time.

The adjusters are not in parallel alignment with each other.

1. Loosen the floor pan attaching bolts.

2. Position the seat fully forward.

3. Tighten the bolts. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Removal and Installation.

SEATS - ADJUSTER TRACK LOCKS AHEAD OF OTHER TRACK

NOTE:

Replace all seat adjusters as an assembly. Replace both sides at the same time.

The adjusters are out of time.

Remove and reinstall the front bucket seat. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Removal and Installation.

Procedure

1. Raise the headrest to gain access to the head restraint guide bezel.

2. Twist the bezel counter clockwise and push the bezel upward on the head restraint adjuster rod.

Using a suitable pointed or flat bladed tool, push the metal clip rearward while pulling upward on the head restraint.

Front Seat Cushion Cover

Procedure

1. Disengage the J-channel retainers from the seat cushion frame.

2. Disconnect the electrical connectors that attach to the seat cushion, if equipped.

3. Remove the seat cushion cover and pad from the seat cushion frame as an assembly.

4. Remove the hog rings and separate the seat cushion cover from the seat cushion pad by pulling the cover away from the pad.

4. Remove Driver or Passenger Seat Head Restraint. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Head Restraint Replacement

Driver or Passenger Seat Back Cushion Cover

Procedure

1. Disengage the j-channel retainers and tabs at the bottom of the seat back cover from the seat back cushion frame.

2. Disconnect the electrical connector that is attached to the seat back cushion, if equipped.

Front Seat Back Cushion Pad

Procedure

1. Remove the hog rings.

2. Separate the seat cover from the seat cushion pad by pulling the cover away from the pad.

3. Transfer the seat heater, if equipped.


NOTE:

Seat back cover can be damaged upon

When reinstalling the seat cushion cover to the seat pad, start in upper outboard corner and install outboard side of the cover. Then start at the upper inboard corner and install inboard side of cover.

Drill out all of the rivets before removing the pad wire.

1. Lower the rear seat back forward to gain space between the head restraint and the roof.

2. Depress both buttons on the head restraint guides and pull upward to remove the head restraint from the seat.

Rear Seat Head Restraint Guide (Qty: 2)

Procedure

Using a suitable flat-bladed tool, slide the tool on the inside of the guide until it finds the slot. Then push the tool forward pulling the guide tab inward, while pulling upward to remove the guide from the seat back frame.

1. Press inward on the two retainer tabs to release. These can be felt through a slot where the seat cushion cover meets the seat cushion pan.

2. Pull up on the front of the seat cushion and lift out of the vehicle.

Rear Seat Back Cushion

Procedure

1. Pull the rear seat back cushion latch release located on the top of the rear seat back cushion, and fold the rear seat back cushion forward.

2. Push in on the rear seat back cushion pivot support, and release from bracket.

3. Pull up on the outer side of the rear seat back cushion and remove the rear seat back cushion from the bracket and hinge.

Rear Seat Back Cushion Pivot Support

Procedure

1. Pull the rear seat back cushion latch release located on the top of the rear seat back cushion, and fold the rear seat back cushion forward.

2. Push in on the rear seat back cushion pivot support, and release from bracket.

Procedure

Pull up on the outer side of the rear seat back cushion and remove the rear seat back cushion from the bracket and hinge.

Rear Seat Back Cushion Latch Release Handle Bezel

Procedure

Using a suitable flat-bladed tool, push inward on the rear tabs while pulling upward from the rear of the bezel to release it from the seat.
